THE LATEST

After what felt like forever spent in the deep end of suspended animation, we have FINALLY started working on
a new film project!  A year ago, we recruited Martin Atkins from the band Pigface and the Invisible Records label
in Chicago and we were able to record his voice over narration for this new movie a few weeks ago.  He did a
great fucking job and we really appreciate his time and contribution to the film (as well as all his industry insight!!)

In recent months, we also finished up another short film script tentatively entitled "Sweet Dreams" which is now
undergoing a series of edits.  It did, however, receive the green light from Melissa Malan (our original
TORTURED GIRL) and Tony Colon (director of the HerbiShorts "How Deep Is The Rabbit Hole?" and
"You Are What You Eat.")  That's good enough for us.  If we can actually pull this one off, it'd be
our most ambitious project yet filled with plenty of monsters, blood, and things that go bump in the night...

Our HerbiShort "How Deep Is The Rabbit Hole" has been accepted into the 2013 Mascara and Popcorn
International Film Festival in Montreal, Canada!!  Congratulations to the film's director Tony Colon
and the cast and crew for making this demented little flick about a BDSM bunny and the pissed off
princess who hates him an international success!!

Our project with the Fantasy Sports Development Group wrapped in early January and we produced for them
a series of instructional videos and commercials for the launch of their website in Spring of 2013.
Appearing in the videos will be a few of the fantasy fanatics from our short
"Any Given Fantasy Sunday" (which can be found HERE) and Chef Tony and Gratuitous Female
Sidekick Rachel
from our cooking show FEED THE BEAST.

Speaking of FEED THE BEAST, it is with sad hearts and empty bellies that we bid farewell to our webseries
dedicated to the culinary arts and 80s nostalgia.  The powers that be decided that it was time for the
BEAST to be laid to rest to make way for a new webseries that will go into production in late Spring 2013:
part cooking show, part psychedelic nightmare, three parts what the fuck?!

Thank you to everyone who watched and shared our
FEED THE BEAST episodes.
It was a lot of fun and really quite delicious...

If you've been keeping up on HerbiNews, you'd probably remember us hyping up this new film project entitled
VIVIENNE, which we shot some footage for in May 2012 with the wonderful Rachel Joy Mazza in front of the camera
the talented Ethan Adelsman from Chicago's Snarling Beast Films behind it.  We started filming with only
an outline of a story and a few bits of monologue; the majority of the shoot was improvised and Rachel reached into
the shadows and pulled off an incredibly creepy performance.  Fast forward a year and the script for VIVIENNE never
came together as we had hoped: a combination of terrible writer's block, frustration, and too many other ideas
getting in the way.  Add to this Rachel's departure to Australia and it seemed like VIVIENNE might never see the
light of day.  Well, we won't spoil the ending for you here.  You can check out the rest of the story on the VIVIENNE page.

Check out the new HerbiBlog SCARY RABBITS!!  We'll be recounting some of our favorite Herbivore stories

Updated somewhat regularly, but not necessarily.

However, you can still get your Herbi fix with a health dose of "Gless" still available in our STORE.

Welcome to Herbivore Productions.

We are an independent film company based in Chicago, Illinois.

We have a tendency of making movies that involve themes of madness and self destruction.

We also make a really good cooking show.

We often make movies in black and white as it cuts down on the need for color correction later.

We've been told our movies don't make sense.

We've never been told our movies are hilarious.

We like furries and monsters, but not necessarily furry monsters.

We find arterial spray and Rorschach tests aesthetically pleasing.

We have had our movies played in four of the Earth's seven continents.

We have used the same kitchen knife and the same grey sweater in three of our films.

None of our actors have ever had an allergic reaction our to silicone prosthetics.  One actor did choke on blood though.

We have yet to use a real lagamorph in a movie, but we hope to someday.

We like lagamorphs.

Thank you for visiting our website.

Please check out all we have to offer and visit us often as we always have something going on.

You can also find us on both Facebook and Twitter.

Stay alive.
